The following dogs are no longer with me, but will be in my heart forever.

Troy

Troy

"Shelando of Sea Isle".

Troy was our very first sheltie.  He was a surprise Christmas gift for my sister and myself after losing our poodle.  What a change-small, petite non shedding poodle, to an oversized, hairy sheltie!  It was a choice that I have never regretted.  Although he was oversized, he made a splash in the obedience ring, earning his CD (companion dog) title in 3 straight trials.

He was a gentleman to the end, and was the start of this love affair with shelties.

Julie

Julie

"Arbreglens Ebony Fire"

Julie came to me as a foster puppy for socialization before her show career.  Unfortunately she went oversized, and hated the showing thing anyway.  However, she was a superior mother--she never left the whelping box for the first 3 weeks after whelping!  She was the mother of Maverick, and the Grandmother of Buster, my first homebred champion.

Julie taught me that shelties are much more intelligent than I am--there wasn't a wire crate she wasn't able to get out of.  Even with extra snaps she took great pride in proving that she was capable of escape from anything!  As she got older, her best trick at the park was falling over on her side and not moving for a minute or two, leaving her human mother to think something was wrong-then she would start rolling on her side and back, laughing all the time I'm sure!

Buster

Buster

"Ch. Ramblinbrooks Billy Buster Boy"

My first homebred champion!

Buster was a great little man, with attitude galore.  He did feel that everyone that was at the show was there to see him, and him alone!  He was trained in agility, and had this habit of stopping for a few seconds at the top of the A-frame so that everyone was sure to see him!

Buster took a nice Group 4th on his way to his championship shown by my good friend Debbie Flint of Windegor shelties.

Brooke

Brooke

"Arbreglens Ramblin Brooke"

Brooke was another foster puppy, who just never went back to her breeder!  Brooke wasn't destined for the show ring, but was a great mother, and is the mother of 3 champions (Buster, Linus and Hope), and is the grandmother of 3, and great grandmother of 1 more!  She is the foundation of my kennel.

She was a gentle soul who loved everyone, and was ready for anything at any time!  Even in her senior years, with bad arthritis, she gave it her all.

Maverick

Maverick

"Arbreglens Blue Maverick"

Mavie was a son of Julie, and the father of Buster.  He unfortunately went oversized, so wasn't able to be shown, but he was a great dog, who quickly learned obedience and agility.

In his later years he suffered from arthritis (all those years of proving to all the younger dogs that he was able to get to that tennis ball first, no matter what!) but he was a gentleman to the end.  He never soiled in the house, ate every meal with relish and taught all the youngsters their manners.
