According to my parents, I have wanted to be involved with animals since I was 6 years old. I spent my youth volunteering at the local veterinary clinic, and spending time riding and showing our horses. Our first dog was a miniature poodle called Misty. My first Sheltie was a Christmas present for my sister and I. Troy taught me the great joy that comes from being owned by a sheltie, and I had hoped to perhaps show him in conformation, but being a small sheltie was not in the cards and he went oversized. He did however excel in obedience and earned his CD (companion dog) obedience title in just 3 shows. I went on to college and became an Animal Health Technician so the health and temperment of my puppies is the most important aspect in my breeding plans. I try to keep up with all the new information concerning genetic problems and strive to bred genetically clear dogs to genetically clear dogs. I recently retired from the veterinary field after 20 years to become a groomer full time, so I am still quite involved with animals. I currently share my home with 7 shelties (3 of which are retired) and 2 cats. All the animals will greet you at the door when you arrive for a visit, so be prepared to be covered with hair!! Sorry, a hazard when coming for a visit! I usually only have 1 litter a year, and have been breeding shelties for 15 years. In that time, I have been lucky enough to have bred and finished 9 homebred champions. I consider the people who buy one of my puppies to become a member of the family and like to keep in touch with as many owners as I possibly can. Please feel free to contact me for any further information/questions etc. |
